IDEA Ghana was registered in December 2005 at the Registrar General's
Department and officially licensed to operate as a Non-Governmental
Organization (NGO). IDEA has rented an office space at West Legon
in Accra, the capital of Ghana. The Country Director, Elizabeth
Mireku Boye, in conjunction with the Program Manager, registered
children who are mentally and physically challenged to benefit from
the program. The officers and members were given IDEA Ghana T-shirts
during the initial official registration. IDEA is currently working
with FRUS Academy School, located at Achimota, as a pilot training
center for the registered children. Since the source of funds is
mainly from private individuals only 30 children are currently registered.
